Democrats win elections while Archive of Our Own stays down
Original: Dems up, AO3 still down Monday : Wistfully deleting my automated weekly “remember to tag wrangle” email Tuesday : Proudl
Democrats notched wins in recent US elections, a result supporters celebrated even as the fan-fiction archive AO3 remained offline. Voters joked about the contrast: casting ballots for candidates who showed empathy during crises and promised higher taxes, while volunteer tag-wranglers wistfully deleted their automated weekly reminders because the site they maintain was still unavailable.
Why now: The overlap of election results and the ongoing AO3 outage gave people something to joke about and discuss at the same time.
