American Voters Overwhelmingly Reject AI Data Centers

New reporting indicates that American voters across party lines largely oppose the rapid buildout of AI data centers in their communities, citing concerns over energy use, water consumption, and local impact. The sentiment is drawing attention as several US localities have seen ballot measures and public pushback against large-scale data center projects tied to the AI boom.

Why now: Voter resistance to AI infrastructure is colliding with the tech industry's aggressive expansion plans.
