Trump blames Fox News and GOP candidates for midterm losses
Original: Trump blames Fox News, GOP candidates for midterm losses
Donald Trump has publicly faulted Fox News and Republican candidates for the party's poor performance in the midterm elections, rejecting suggestions that he bears responsibility. The comments have drawn wide attention, fueling debate within the GOP over who is to blame for the results and whether Trump's influence helped or hurt the party at the ballot box.
Why now: Republicans are searching for explanations after underperforming in the midterms, and Trump's deflection to Fox News and GOP candidates is a contentious flashpoint.
