Rights group: Israeli restrictions block Gaza child amputees from treatment abroad
Original: Israeli restrictions block Gaza child amputees from treatment abroad, rights group says
A rights group says Israeli restrictions are preventing child amputees from Gaza from travelling abroad for medical treatment. The organisation reports that children who lost limbs during the war are unable to leave the territory to receive specialised prosthetic and rehabilitative care, and it is calling for evacuation corridors to be opened so wounded children can access treatment unavailable inside Gaza.
Why now: Ongoing concerns about Gaza's humanitarian and medical crisis keep reports on wounded children in the public eye.
