Attari border to reopen briefly for Pakistani Sikh pilgrims before Diwali
Original: Attari border, closed after Pahalgam attack, to open for Pak Sikh group before Diwali | | Inshorts
The Attari-Wagah border between India and Pakistan, closed to movement after the April Pahalgam terror attack, will temporarily open to allow a group of Pakistani Sikh pilgrims to cross into India ahead of Diwali. The limited exception is being framed as a humanitarian gesture for religious pilgrimage even as broader ties between the two countries remain frozen.
Why now: The partial reopening of a border shut after a terror attack is a notable diplomatic signal between India and Pakistan, coming ahead of a major religious festival.
