Ohio State students weigh solidarity with Jane Doe against fear of online judgment
Original: Ohio State students weigh solidarity with Jane Doe against fear of online judgment - Cameron Dewey
Students at Ohio State University are reportedly weighing whether to publicly back a fellow student identified only as Jane Doe, with some hesitant because they fear being judged online for taking a side. The piece, attributed to Cameron Dewey, frames a tension between campus solidarity and the risks of speaking up in a polarized online environment.
Why now: The case has sparked debate on campus about the social and online costs of publicly supporting an anonymous figure.
