A Guinness World Record was broken after a Brazilian under-20 football match saw 53 red cards shown, an extraordinary disciplinary meltdown in a single game. The match descended into repeated confrontations, forcing the referee to dismiss players and staff on an unprecedented scale.
Why now: The sheer scale of the record, 53 red cards in one youth match, is an almost unbelievable football statistic.
