The Onion mocks Cornell's response to sexual assault cases

Original: # BarelySatire > Cornell Vows That Rapists Will Be Forced To Write Much Longer Essays In The Future https:// theonion.co

Satirical outlet The Onion published a piece claiming Cornell University vowed that future rapists would be forced to write much longer essays, mocking the perception that elite universities respond to campus sexual violence with weak, administrative punishments rather than real accountability. The story is satire, but it taps into ongoing criticism of how US higher education institutions handle assault complaints.

Why now: Satire about weak university responses to campus sexual assault resonates amid continuing public anger over institutional accountability in higher education.
