Talk of a 'Dubai Crypto Mafia' Circulates Online
Original: The Dubai Crypto Mafia
A claim that a small circle of cryptocurrency insiders in Dubai operate together like a 'mafia' is drawing wide attention, attracting hundreds of thousands of reactions. Commenters describe alleged informal networks of traders, promoters and investors who favor each other on deals in the emirate's fast-growing crypto scene. No names or specific wrongdoing have been confirmed, and the phrase appears to be used at least partly ironically.
Why now: Frustration and irony over perceived insider dealing among Dubai's prominent crypto circles is resonating with a global audience following the crypto market closely.
