Hegseth expected to fire more top US military leaders
Original: Hegseth expected to fire more top-ranking US military
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is expected to dismiss additional senior-ranking military officers, extending a series of shake-ups at the Pentagon's top leadership. The move would follow earlier dismissals of high-profile commanders and is drawing attention over concerns about the politicisation of the armed forces and the criteria being used to remove senior officers.
Why now: Fresh reports of further senior military dismissals by the Defense Secretary are raising concerns about leadership instability at the Pentagon.
