Flydubai Co-Pilot Stabs Captain, Passengers Stop Hijack
Original: Co-Pilot Stabs Captain on Flydubai Flight; Passengers Foil Hijack Attempt
A co-pilot aboard a Flydubai flight allegedly stabbed the captain in an apparent hijack attempt, which passengers helped subside. The captain is reported to have survived, and the aircraft landed safely. News of the incident is spreading rapidly, with reactions focusing on how the attack was stopped and questions about cockpit security and crew vetting.
Why now: The rare onboard attack involving an airline's own pilot and the passengers' intervention is shocking and newly reported.
