Hegseth's western civilization speech draws mockery
Original: Hegseth's western civilization speech mocked
Pete Hegseth is facing ridicule after delivering a speech framed around defending western civilization. Critics called the rhetoric grandiose and politically loaded, with jokes and sharply worded commentary spreading across social media. Supporters, by contrast, read the address as a confident statement of cultural values, making the speech a fresh flashpoint in the ongoing culture-war debate.
Why now: A high-profile US political figure invoked contested 'western civilization' themes, prompting immediate partisan reactions online.
