Birdwatchers at Titchwell Marsh in Norfolk were treated to close views of Pied Avocets feeding along the water, with many birds gathered near one of the reserve hides. Visitors had been hoping to spot a rare Spotted Crake, which did appear, though the best photographs came from other birds, including the striking avocets sweeping for food.

Why now: Wildlife photographers and birders are sharing close encounters and photos from a popular reserve visit.

• Pied Avocet Trying to Find Some Food This was one of many close by at Titchwell March, and one of the hides when we were trying to spot the rare Spotted Crake. It did show, but the nice photos are from other birds, such as this one. # photography # Birds # BirdPhotography #… · derickr@phpc.social · 7
