Premier League clubs want Manchester City punished this season
Original: Punish Man City this season, say other club chiefs
Rival Premier League club executives are calling for Manchester City to face sanctions in the current season over the charges brought against the club by the league. The report, carried by Yahoo Sports, says other club chiefs want any punishment applied now rather than delayed, which could affect points, transfers or the title race.
Why now: Manchester City's long-running financial charges case is nearing an outcome, and rival clubs fear a delayed ruling could distort the current season.
