Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly asked UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to deny a Haaretz report claiming the Emirati leader warned him of a looming Hamas attack shortly before October 7, 2023. The alleged request to dispute the report is drawing scrutiny over what Netanyahu knew ahead of the Hamas assault and how his government has handled questions about intelligence warnings.
Why now: The report reignites controversy over whether Netanyahu was warned before the October 7 attacks and his efforts to counter that claim.
