Fifth unvaccinated person dies of measles as CDC death count questioned
Original: Fifth unvaccinated person dies of measles; CDC still not counting all deaths https://arstechnica.com/health/2026/09/fift
A fifth unvaccinated person has died in the ongoing US measles outbreak, according to Ars Technica. The report also criticizes the CDC, arguing the agency's official death toll does not capture all measles-related fatalities, raising concerns about how accurately the outbreak's true impact is being tracked.
Why now: A measles death and questions about CDC's official count renew concern over the outbreak and public health reporting.
