Evolution and climate change cut from Florida science standards
Original: Evolution, climate change missing from Florida's new K-12 science standards
Florida's newly proposed K-12 science standards omit evolution and climate change, according to WUSF reporting. Critics say the omissions undermine science education, while supporters of the standards have not been detailed in the available reporting. The state education department's draft standards would shape what public school students are taught statewide.
Why now: Florida's updated K-12 science standards are drawing scrutiny for dropping these key topics.
