Original: In Wooing Wavering Hispanic Voters, Trump Talks ICE, His Ballroom and Himself https://www.nytimes.com/2026/09/30/us/poli
President Trump marked Hispanic Heritage Month with an appeal to wavering Hispanic voters, blending pledges on immigration enforcement through ICE with remarks about his White House ballroom project and lengthy personal reflections. The approach signals a continued Republican effort to consolidate Hispanic support ahead of the midterm elections, even as his immigration agenda remains a point of tension among these communities.
Why now: Hispanic voters are seen as a pivotal swing bloc heading into the 2026 midterms, making Trump's pitch newsworthy.
