Original: Duquesne Light union workers to strike at midnight unless deal is reached
Union workers at Pittsburgh-area utility Duquesne Light are set to walk off the job at midnight unless the company reaches a contract agreement with them first. The strike threat puts electricity service for customers in the region at risk and makes the standoff between the utility and its workforce a pressing local concern as the deadline approaches.
Why now: The strike deadline is imminent and a work stoppage could affect electricity service for local customers.
