India and Pakistan exercise right of reply at UN General Debate
Original: 🇺🇳 India, Pakistan - Right of Replies (25 Sep) - United Nations General Debate, 81st Session | #UNGA
India and Pakistan used their right of reply at the United Nations General Debate during the 81st General Assembly session on 25 September, responding to remarks made by the other country from the floor. The exchanges are a familiar feature of the annual debate, with each side contesting the other's statements, typically over Kashmir and regional security. Attention is focused on how the two states framed their positions before the international gathering.
Why now: The annual UN General Assembly debate is underway, and the long-running India-Pakistan rivalry draws attention whenever the two clash on the world stage.
