A new report alleges that hundreds of Catholic clergy sexually abused children in Massachusetts, according to the New York Times. The findings reignite long-running scrutiny of the Catholic Church's handling of abuse in the state where the Boston Globe's Spotlight investigation first exposed widespread clerical abuse in 2002. Readers are reacting with anger over the scale of the abuse and calls for accountability.
Why now: The release of a major new abuse report in the epicentre of the Catholic Church abuse scandal has drawn widespread attention and outrage.
