Strike deadline looms for unionized Duquesne Light workers
Original: Strike deadline looming for unionized Duquesne Light workers
Unionized workers at Duquesne Light, the Pittsburgh-area electric utility, are approaching a strike deadline as contract talks have not produced a deal. A walkoff would threaten service for customers across southwestern Pennsylvania, putting pressure on both the union and company to reach agreement before the deadline hits.
Why now: A potential utility strike would disrupt electricity service for the Pittsburgh region, making the deadline urgent news for local residents.
