Magic: The Gathering Arena, the digital version of the trading card game, has rolled out a batch of new emotes with notably sharp or aggressive wording. Japanese players are reacting to the additions, joking about their high 'verbal firepower' and describing a 'mental attack meta', where taunting opponents psychologically becomes part of the competitive experience. Discussion is focused on how these emotes change the tone of online matches.
Why now: New in-game emotes perceived as psychological taunts are sparking amusement and debate among players.
