'Verity' Panned in New Review Despite Star Power
Original: ‘Verity’ Review: Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett Try and Fail to Slink Their Way Through a Dumb Mystery
The Hollywood Reporter has published a negative review of 'Verity,' the new mystery thriller starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett. The critic calls the film a 'dumb mystery' that the three leads 'try and fail' to carry, criticising its plotting despite the A-list cast. The film is the big-screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, and its reception is now a talking point among fans and film watchers.
Why now: A major trade publication has published a harsh review of a high-profile adaptation with a star-studded cast.
