Obochama-kun anime revived for 2027 broadcast

Original: おぼっちゃまくん アニメ

A fully new anime of 'Obochama-kun', Kobayashi Yoshinori's classic gag manga about Gobu Chama, heir to the Gobu zaibatsu, is set to air on TV Asahi in 2027, roughly 35 years after the original ended. Voice actress Chihiro Kamishiro will reprise her role as Chama, and both the original author and the cast have released comments welcoming the revival, 'Obochama-kun REBORN'.

Why now: The announcement of a brand-new TV anime revival after 35 years, planned for 2027, is fresh news in Japan.
