Jason Kottke on how easily any website can be destroyed
Original: You can destroy kottke.org if you want. Or any other site! https://kottke.org/26/09/0049710-destroy-kottkeorg # Internet
Blogger Jason Kottke published a new post on kottke.org arguing that anyone can destroy his site, or any other website, highlighting how fragile independent web publishing has become. The item is drawing attention in web and internet culture circles, with readers sharing concerns about the vulnerability of long-running independent sites to takedowns, hosting disputes or platform pressure.
Why now: Kottke.org is a long-running and widely respected independent site, so its author warning that it can be destroyed resonates with worries about the fragility of the open web
