A new paper in Science Advances examines the mechanics and physics behind octopus arm flexibility, drawing attention to the remarkable dexterity of these animals. Commenters are praising octopuses' well-known cleverness and problem-solving skills, though one critic has also used the discussion to disparage the memory supplement Prevagen, which has long been marketed with dubious octopus-related advertising claims.

Why now: A newly published scientific study on how octopus arms move is generating interest among science enthusiasts.

• I'm not a physicist (nor TBH a fan of the huge Prevagen scam), but I do appreciate # Octopi and their 'cleverness' and skills. This is sort of deep into the # mechanics /#physics of some amazing # Octopus flexibility. https://www. science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv… · drmike · 3
