A Korean film about three young women whose dream of becoming K-pop idols ended, following them on a 'graduation trip' together, has been confirmed for nationwide theatrical release in Japan. The film, whose Japanese title translates roughly as 'When It Gets Strong', is drawing attention from film fans for its sympathetic look at rejected trainees and the emotional aftermath of abandoned idol dreams.
Why now: Interest in K-pop and Korean cinema in Japan remains high, so a film about failed idol hopefuls resonates with fans.
