Wildlife Center says glue traps are inhumane
The Wildlife Center of Virginia is calling glue traps inhumane, arguing the sticky boards cause prolonged suffering for mice, snakes, birds and other animals that become stuck and cannot free themselves. The center is urging people to use alternative methods of dealing with pests around homes and businesses, and says trapped animals often need professional rescue and rehabilitation.
Why now: Animal welfare advocates are pushing to change common pest control habits, drawing fresh attention to the harm glue traps cause to wildlife.
