Jason Fried builds personal writing tool Write_On in one weekend with AI
Basecamp co-founder Jason Fried says he built Write_On, a personal writing tool of his own, over a single weekend using AI assistance. He shared the result publicly, framing it as a small project made for his own use rather than a product launch. The quick turnaround has drawn attention as an example of AI-assisted coding letting an experienced non-full-time developer ship working software in days.
Why now: The weekend build showcases how AI tools are letting experienced founders create working software alone and fast.
