Readers Mark International Translation Day
Original: Today (well, I guess yesterday here in Japan) is apparently International Translation Day! Read more translated fiction
International Translation Day is being celebrated by readers and writers, with calls to read more translated fiction. Book lovers are also urging publishers and reviewers to credit translators alongside authors, arguing that translation is a creative craft that too often goes unrecognised. The day, marked internationally, highlights the role translators play in bringing literature across languages and borders.
Why now: International Translation Day is taking place, prompting readers to celebrate translators and translated books.
