Commenters are promoting the phrase 'God's eye view' as a more useful framing than slogans about war, geopolitics and surveillance. The discussion points to Google Earth layers and overlays as precursors of the concept, arguing they already served researchers and engineers as valuable resources. The exchange suggests people want deeper analysis of aerial observation technology rather than catch-all political buzzwords.
Why now: Ongoing concern over surveillance technology and satellite imagery in the context of war is prompting debate over how to frame the issue.
