Rubio Orders Iranian UN Delegation To Leave US
Original: Rubio Orders Iranian UN Delegation To Leave US After Talks Stall
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered Iran's delegation to the United Nations to leave the United States after diplomatic talks between the two countries stalled. The expulsion of a UN mission is a rare and serious diplomatic move, underscoring the breakdown in negotiations. It is likely to further heighten tensions between Washington and Tehran and draw scrutiny over its implications for UN diplomacy in New York.
Why now: The expulsion of Iran's UN delegation marks a sharp escalation in US-Iran tensions amid stalled talks.
