Fundraiser stories draw attention on two fronts
Original: fundraiser
Two fundraiser-related stories are drawing attention. The Times of Israel reports on an alleged Hamas fundraiser who told an undercover agent he had a network in New York, raising concerns about financing channels in the US. Separately, Global News reports that a GoFundMe set up for an 81-year-old delivery driver was pulled over what the platform called misrepresentations, prompting debate about crowdfunding vetting.
Why now: Conflicting fundraiser headlines about alleged militant financing and a pulled charity campaign are circulating at the same time.
