Porsche is expanding its factory retrofit programme so owners of older sports cars can add modern infotainment. The upgrade brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the 997.2 and 991.1 generation 911s and the 987.2 and 981 Boxsters and Caymans. Commenters praise the company for supporting older models with current technology rather than forcing buyers into new cars.

Why now: Car enthusiasts appreciate that Porsche keeps supporting older vehicles with modern infotainment instead of leaving them behind.
