Alpine F1 driver Franco Colapinto says he has the full backing of team boss Flavio Briatore as he fights to secure his place in Formula 1. The Argentine driver, who joined the squad after starting the season without a race seat, is under pressure to perform alongside Pierre Gasly amid speculation over Alpine's 2026 driver line-up.

Why now: Colapinto's future at Alpine is under scrutiny, and Briatore's backing bears directly on whether he keeps the seat.
