Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was caught on a hot mic disparaging Donald Trump after the president reportedly insinuated Paxton is unattractive. The exchange has drawn attention as a sign of friction between the two allies, with commentators describing the back-and-forth as petty, high-school-style sniping between prominent Republican figures.
Why now: A public falling-out between two prominent Trump allies, complete with an embarrassing hot mic moment, is intrinsically newsworthy and shareable.
