Amnesty International in the spotlight in Spain

Original: amnistía internacional

Amnesty International is being widely searched and discussed in Spain. The renewed attention comes amid coverage of the crisis in Ceuta, two months on, with the Defence Ministry referring to the courts a complaint alleging torture of migrants by military personnel. The human rights organisation is a central voice in debates over the treatment of migrants at the Spanish-Moroccan border.

Why now: Ongoing controversy over alleged torture of migrants in Ceuta has put Amnesty International back in public focus in Spain.
