Rubio orders Iranian UN delegation to leave New York
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered the Iranian delegation to the United Nations to leave New York. The move, if confirmed, would represent a significant diplomatic escalation between Washington and Tehran, restricting Iran's representation at the UN headquarters. Details on the reasoning, timing and scope of the expulsion order remain limited, and Iran has not yet publicly responded to the announcement.
Why now: The reported expulsion of a UN member state's delegation is a rare and serious diplomatic escalation between the US and Iran.
