Zelensky announces strike on Samara oil refinery

President Zelensky announced a Ukrainian strike on an oil refinery in Russia's Samara region, roughly 860 km southeast of Moscow. He also reported attacks on a drone launch and storage site in the Oryol region and a supply depot in the Bryansk region, along with another target near the Black Sea. The deep strike into Russian energy infrastructure highlights Kyiv's growing long-range drone capability.

Why now: Ukraine's ability to hit a refinery deep inside Russia, far from the front lines, is a notable escalation in the war's long-range drone campaign.
