Evolution and climate change dropped from Florida science standards

Original: Evolution and climate change are missing from Florida's new K-12 science standards

Florida's new K-12 science standards no longer include the terms evolution and climate change, according to WUSF reporting. The omission is drawing criticism from science educators, who argue students will miss core concepts in biology and earth science, while supporters of the standards say the changes reflect curriculum review processes. The move places Florida at the center of ongoing national debates over science education standards.

Why now: Florida released new K-12 science standards omitting evolution and climate change, reigniting debate over science education.
