Does cricket need a better plan for rain-hit knockouts?
Original: ICYMI: When rain causes a knockout, does cricket need another plan?
A debate is under way about how cricket decides knockout matches when rain intervenes. The question raised is whether the existing rain rules, which recalculate targets in reduced matches, are fair, and whether the sport needs a different method to settle knockout games abandoned or shortened by weather. Commentators and fans are weighing alternatives, though no specific match or proposed fix is named.
