Cricket's crowded calendar as formats increasingly overlap
Original: Cricket’s increasingly complex merry-go-round as formats overlap
Cricket's scheduling is drawing criticism as Test matches, one-day internationals and T20 fixtures increasingly overlap, forcing players and teams into a continuous rotation between formats. Commentators describe the calendar as a complex merry-go-round, with concerns mounting over player workload, franchise leagues competing with international duties, and the clarity of the global fixture list.
Why now: Overlapping formats and congested scheduling are currently a live debating point among cricket fans and commentators.
