Asha Sharma, Microsoft's gaming chief, has denied reports that the company is considering selling off its Xbox business, stating plainly that 'Xbox is not for sale'. The comments follow a June report by The Information claiming Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and the company's CFO had discussed options for the gaming division. Sharma's denial is aimed at shutting down speculation about the console brand's future within Microsoft.

Why now: Ongoing speculation about Microsoft possibly offloading its Xbox business is prompting denials from the company's leadership.
