Drone logistics company Matternet is pursuing a plan to deliver hot chicken straight to customers from the air, according to Fast Company. The idea highlights the company's push beyond medical and small-parcel drone deliveries into consumer food delivery, a crowded field already targeted by Wing, Zipline and other aerial delivery rivals.
Why now: Matternet's move into drone food delivery is a novel and surprising expansion for a company known mainly for medical deliveries.
