Estonia bans transit of Russian and Belarusian grain
Original: эстония
Estonia has prohibited the transit of Russian and Belarusian grain through its territory, according to Current Time. The move tightens existing restrictions on Russian and Belarusian goods moving across the European Union's eastern border. Commentators view it as part of the broader effort to cut off revenue streams for Moscow and Minsk amid the war in Ukraine.
Why now: Estonia's new transit ban adds to growing sanctions pressure on Russian and Belarusian goods, which is drawing attention across the region.
