Six independent rappers have released a multilingual album addressing India's climate crisis, performing in Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Hindi. The tracks confront heat waves, water shortages and vanishing tree cover, drawing on places such as Bengaluru's dried-up lakes and the quarried Aravalli range. The project, covered by Local Samosa, frames environmental degradation through local voices and languages, and is drawing attention for grounding climate issues in everyday regional experience.

Why now: The album connects hip-hop with India's escalating environmental problems, offering a fresh, locally rooted take on the climate conversation.
