Democratic group proposes new framework for US-Israel ties
Original: Democratic group offers a new framework for the US-Israel relationship as party rifts deepen
A Democratic group has put forward a new framework for the US-Israel relationship, arguing for a reset in how the party approaches the alliance. The proposal lands as rifts inside the Democratic Party over Israel deepen, with growing tension between pro-Israel moderates and progressives calling for conditions on military aid and stronger criticism of the Netanyahu government.
Why now: Deepening divisions among Democrats over Israel have made the party's future stance on the alliance a contested and timely question.
