Original: Donald # Trump menace la # France et l’ # Allemagne d’un embargo sur le # diesel # américain si elles ne puisent pas dan
Donald Trump has threatened France and Germany with an embargo on American diesel unless they draw on their emergency stockpiles, according to reports circulating on social media. The threat has drawn sharp reactions in France, with commentators mocking the idea that the US president could dictate European energy policy decisions.
Why now: Trump's threat of a diesel embargo against two major US allies is an unusual and provocative intervention in transatlantic energy relations.
