Online debate erupts over evidence for God's existence
Original: Theists: Can you provide any evidence that a god exists? Oh I'm sorry, am I being militant again? ______________________
A sardonic question directed at religious believers—asking them to provide any evidence that a god exists—is circulating online, framed with the mocking apology 'am I being militant again?' The exchange taps into the long-running dispute between atheists and theists over burden of proof, faith, and whether vocal scepticism should be labelled 'militant' atheism. Commenters are lining up on both sides of the evidence-versus-faith divide.
Why now: Ongoing online friction between atheists and theists over burden of proof and the 'militant atheist' label.
